Original song by Mick Fleetwood: Live Nov.2007

On November 11th, Annual Love Ride 24 will begin at 6:00 a.m. when an expected 20,000 riders will finish registration while being entertained by the band "Captain Cardiac and the Coronaries". At 9:00 am, bikers will then head north through Glendale on Brand Boulevard, then turn onto the 134 freeway to the Pomona Fairplex. There, riders will enjoy a complimentary BBQ lunch and beverages, then sit back and enjoy an afternoon of rock and blues supplied by the legendary Gregg Allman.

Big surprises are in store for people who attend this year's event, including special guests performing songs from the very first "Friends of Love Ride 24" CD. This new compilation includes original songs by recording artists Andy Summers (The Police), Mick Fleetwood (Fleetwood Mac), Jackson Browne, Jeff Healey, and an all-star cast of others including: Robbie Krieger (The Doors), Todd Smallwood (Mick Fleetwood Band), Jack Mack (America's #1 Rock n' Soul band), Brian Ray (Paul McCartney), Too Slim and the Taildraggers (currently in Billboard's Top Ten), and more.

Glendale Harley owner Oliver Shokouh founded the Love Ride twenty-four years ago as a way to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy and local children's charities. Since then, the Love Ride Foundation has given over $20 million to organizations, supported by such celebrities as Malcom Forbes, Peter Fonda, David Crosby, Billy Idol, Bruce Springsteen, the Doobie Brothers and Sammy Hagar.

"California Bike Week™ is an event for every motorcycle enthusiast, whether they ride, race or just like to watch -- whether you're into Harleys, Hondas, dirt bikes, sport bikes or cruisers. It also offers a rare chance to get up-close to top celebrities and join together for a great cause," says John Buck, California Bike Week's™ new Executive Director. Thanks to several new partnerships and strategic alliances there's a new route, a new venue and a new sense of purpose to the world's largest one-day motorcycle charity event.

General Admission tickets are priced at $20/day, including admission to all stunt shows, general entertainment, admission to the trade show/vendor area, and complimentary motorcycle parking. Tickets that also include admission to the AHDRA Drag Races (Friday and Saturday), and Pacific Coast Nationals (Saturday only) are available starting at $30. Tickets to the Love Ride 24 (Sunday only) include stunt shows, admission to the trade show/vendor area, BBQ lunch, Love Ride 24 concert and complimentary motorcycle parking are priced at $75. Tickets are available on-site, and online at www.calweek.com and www.ticketmaster.com.

Gates are open: Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m.-10 p.m.; Sunday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. For more information on California Bike Week™ and/or The Love Ride® please call 1-877-CAL-WEEK (1-877-225-9335) or visit www.calweek.com. For media inquiries, please contact Christine Eastman at 949-481-5561.

Mich has an "original" song??? How'd that happen??? The only drummer I knew who wrote any type of music was Karen Carpenter and even then, Richard did most of the songs??? Do they mean Mick wrote or performed the song and has anyone heard it yet???

Actually, I think Mick wrote and (spoke the words) to the last track on the "Time" album.

mikeschmike 10-17-2007 03:46 PM

What does this have to do with Stevie?

Do you see a Mick Fleetwood Forum?

camchristo 10-18-2007 12:22 AM

I think the Rumours forum would be a better choice than the Stevie forum.

You mean the Rumours forum that has a thread titled:

"Original song" by Mick Fleetwood on "Friends of Love Ride 24" CD

Why, that's a great idea Rebuckah!

vivfox 10-18-2007 01:11 AM

My thread was posted first.:blob2::):eek:

And this has nothing to do with the Rumours album.

The Rumours folder isn't solely for topics that have to do with the Rumours album. You don't see a Tango in the Night folder either, right? That folder is for everything that has to do with the Rumours line-up of Fleetwood Mac and its individual members, unless it pertains to three members and their solo career.

In short, Mick stuff goes in there. :wavey:

Is it truly a big deal if occasionally a member posts something of interest on the "wrong" board? Just move it.

This is Mick's solo career. And it's for 2007. And I have a lot of respect for you danax6 Vanessa. You are one of the coolest members of the Stevie world-and I really feel this way-even if you are not too fond of me.:xoxo:

This thread also could've gone in Pre-Rumours or Post-Rumours since Mick's always been in the band. But I didn't even notice it was out of place in the Stevie thread. Go figure. I don't think it has to be moved.

Wait a minute. Isn't Phil Collins a drummer who writes music?

Lee :)

Cool! I was JUST jamming to "Lizard People" and "These Strange Times"!;):distress:

In seriousness, ever get the feeling that the wrong Mac person is getting the urge to do new music? I like Mick fine as a performer, but for new songs, I'd sure rather have Stevie or Lindsey.:)
