Spinning of the World

A few years back there was a VHS tape of the Kingston Trio Reunion....

As I recall, Lindsey was a special guest and sang a duet with John Stewart..."Spinning of the World"

Does anyone have that song to share?

Or can you tell me what CD it is on, so that I can try to find it?

It's on John Stewart's Bombs Away Dream Babies album (the same one that has the song "Gold" that Stevie duetted with John, and Lindsey did most of the guitar work on).

John Stewart - Bombs Away Dream Babies @ Amazon.com

Here's the performance online:

I have this on my harddrive or on dvd somewhere, but I can't find it right now. If no one else posts it in the meantime, I will look again tomorrow.

I love this, btw.

Bombs Away Dream Babies also has Midnight Wind on it, with Stevie sounding superb and Lindsey being Lindsey. John says that Lindsey just showed up and played on that song as a birthday gift to John.

Thanks for the info.

Bombs Away Dream Babies --

Damn you Amazon.com and your used sellers!

$53.99 - $150.00

I had a sister-in-law who owned this one vinyl...I think I will give her a call. Now to find my turntable.

You might want to buy the official DVD of the performance. It's called The Kingston Trio & Friends Reunion & the label is White Star (www.whitestarvideo.com). The 1981 concert took place at the Golden Bear Theatre at Magic Mountain in Southern CA.

I love this. <3

Oh my F*ckin God. I have NEVER EVER seen or heard this version. Spectacular! What a joy dripping of this performance! These guys are really connected. And linds on fire!

PS:I guess I'm gonna get insurance on my bombs away-vinyl

Thanks DanaX6...yep, that's the one I wanted. Thank you. I remember them joking about Lindsey wearing the striped shirt and therefore was the only one in "Kingston Trio Uniform" or something along those lines.

Do you have just the audio?

Glad you like it, we really need to get some more good quality Lindsey stuff up on that site, so much better then YouTube IMHO

Isn't it great? I love the energy in this performance. Man, there was a time I played this ten times in a row.

That's one I still need. :distress:

You can get a vinyl copy of bombs away on ebay for fairly cheap.. 5 to 10 dollars for a VG to EX. It's the cd version that is a bit more difficult to come by, hence the high price on amazon, I believe.

Wow, you're right, I just found a copy for only $0.99. I usually tend to spend my Ebay time hunting for rare Stevie/FM singles, I never think to check it for other stuff. I go to my local record store to get my fix in with other artists/bands since I don't need rare stuff for those.

I just did the same tonight.

Can you provide the url?
I'd like to pick up my goal in life: convince my friends how great he is.
I'd like to send them this link.

(and maybe rip an mp3 from it. This is THE oportunity to have the drive to sort out how to do that.)

Sure:
