Stand Back Cd in Store(s)

If anyone has mentioned this, forgive my redundancy- While at a mall here in Connecticut the other day, I saw Stevie's "Stand Back" cd single at FYE, for the normal price of 7.99, but i noticed it only had 4 versions of it, and the SB singles i have seen online all seem to have 7 versions. So, i figured i might as well wait and get the one with 3 more mixes. I wonder though if maybe the 7 versions are on it and only 4 were listed? Seems strange they would release two different versions of it for the same price.

What are the four versions?

Sorry, i don't know. I may go pick it up after all,in the next cpl days, sorry for being of no help at this time. The store had half a dozen copies of the SB maxi-single, so hopefully at least one copy will be left for me. Even tho i am not a big remix fan, if there's **any** Stevie product in stores i don't have, i feel like 'the collection' demands it be added.
Thank you for your awesome website, i think it was from you that i first found out about the vinyl 'Crystal Visions.' I have decided i am going to listen to it (at long last), depreciation be damned. Who knows, maybe there is some vinyl easter-egg on it. Could happen :) Nah....

This I find odd...that you were able to find it in your FYE, and I called 2 within my area and they don't have it there...one thought that Stevie was a he...sooo...it lists it on FYE website but says it's out of stock. I also checked Best Buy. It's listed on their site, but is not instock nor in stores. So...I'm wondering if this single is that popular that it's fying off the shelves or that maybe Warner Bros. just didn't make enough thinking that it wasn't going to sell. I mean hell, even Amazon has theirs on back order. Mine isn't coming till next week and I did the preorder.

That sounds very interesting. I'm not too big of a 'remix' fan either but like you said if its out there and it's Stevie I want it...even if it's just for the PS card. I actually bought mine off ebay...probably a little bit more than some paid through Amazon...but oh well....I've already got mine since last week. This version sounds interesting. If you get it let us know if there are only 4 versions on it and what ones they are. Thanks for the info....:blob2::D

I have the itunes version (4 tracks) and the cd-single version (7 tracks).

Sorry- many apologies, i was wrong. The cd in FYE stores DOES have the 7 remixes and not 4 and it was stupid of me to post otherwise here without being sure, i thought i was sure, but i was wrong. By the way, the FYE in Trumbull, CT has 6 copies in stock and i saw maybe 4 of the SB single at the West Hartford FYE... BestBuy and Borders stores i checked had none.
Again, I'm sorry for the misinformation. I've also been checking stores for the Stevie Nicks Greatest Hits Songbook because i wonder if it has any photos inside, but i haven't been able to find it anywhere yet.

Actually the iTunes store is offering up 8 Stand Back remixes, 4 on one Ep and the other 4 mixes as individual downloads. All are different.

You're a braver person than I. I can not handle manual shopping anymore for anything I need (other than grocery). One word: Amazon

Try Borders or Barnes & Nobles. They tend to stock small quantities of songbooks of popular artists. Stevie just may be there. Unfortunately, there aren't any other pictures.

what does everyone think? i haven't gotten it yet.

For those that don't know there were only 1000 copies of the single pressed. This is why it's so hard to find. There are several reasons for this, one being it's been on iTunes for awhile now and two, no one buys singles anymore. As for how is it, I got mine at a local store in CT this past weekend, but I've had the promo version for awhile now. I think it's horrible, it's not my type of music at all and to me they all sound the same. I got it just to have it because I have every other Stevie release that's ever come out. Musically speaking though, it blows.

JazmenFlowers 09-06-2007 09:08 AM

no copy of the single at any of the music stores here...imagine that. lol. good thing I ordered through Perfect Beat. so, let's see...I have the bootleg version, the promo/dj version from ebay, the iTunes version and the official single. I think that's plenty.
