American Idol in Philly
 

They were in Philly this a.m. @ the Wachovia Center for auditions. Our local Fox affiliate was there. There were 17,000 people there. (Almost a sell-out for a concert!) Kimberly Caldwell was there talking to the local Fox reporter. She talked about when she tried out, that she camped out for like three days (which they don't do anymore) & didn't have any money for gas. (I think she said she tried out in Austin, TX.) Had to borrow gas money from her grandmother. She said everything is better now of course. She's on the TV Guide channel with Justin Guarini who couldn't be there. The local Fox reporter let different people sing on camera for a few minutes & believe or not, they could all sing. It will be interesting to see if any people from Philly make it to Hollywood & go all the way.

Just a side note: I know Stevie was in the area Friday @ The Borgata. I wonder if she hung around & went to the Philly auditions. She could have been a celebrity judge. :nod:

:laugh: i didn't even go. we had some of the hottest days of the year this past weekend -- and i'll be damned if i'll hang out with 17,000 people roasting outside the wachovia center. and if the people folks showed on television are any indication of the level of talent in the delaware valley, no one should sing. ever. they should just stick to being overzealous sports fans.
