This Site rocks. The Scissor Sisters site sucks!
 

This thread is to post my vast appreciation for this site and my wish for it to not go away. I had no idea how good we have it here until I joined a Scissors Sisters website (the only other board I've ever joined).

Their site is such a headache to the eyes---over designed with very unfriendly navigation. And with a ton of rules and regulations. I started posting on their forum board. Early on I apparently made a HUGE mistake -- I requested some live tracks. Soon after I started getting very terse emails labeled "Warning!" I found that so overwrought and patronizing. I wrote to the monitor explaining I was a newbee and not aware of the myrid of rules and regulations. The guy was a complete ass to me, with a strong-handed, snide attitude that really put me off.

They also have a download section that is only accessible intermitantly, determined by the number of posts you've made in a certain period of time. Sometimes you have it, sometimes you don't. Also, there is now a new rule that if you haven't posted anything in a certain amount of time, you get kicked off the board and your membership is cancelled! The idea being that kicking off less interactive members keeps the forum from going stagnent. That doesn't actually foster any sense of community, does it?

The Stalin-like approach they employ leaves me with such a sour taste in my mouth. The irony is that it is the complete antisethis of the spirit and freedom that the band represents. I come here and it's like a breath of fresh air compared to the overly regulated, oppressive atmosphere I experienced there. I know I'm on their **** list now, after only 3 or so posts, and some nasty interaction with their power-obsessed moderator. It's so much easier and friendly here.

The Ledge rocks! So do the Scissor Sisters, but their fan site sucks big time! I have a newfound appreciation for The Ledge, how fairly we are treated and how well it is run.
