Clearly there was more to the interview. Who is this surfergirlCali and how does she have this vidoe I had never seen?

danax6 08-14-2007 12:11 PM

I have this entire thing on dvd.

Gotta love Stevie. "The Wild Heart is more wild. It's a wilder album, it's less fragile than Bella Donna. It's more wild."

I haven't seen it either.

MacMan 08-14-2007 03:46 PM

hmmm... I don't think I've ever seen that piece either... But she looks GOOD!

jannieC 08-14-2007 03:55 PM

I hate it's cut off- I'd love to see the whole interview.

There's not much more to it. It's the day of the '83 US Festival. She talks about The Wild Heart being more Natalie Wood/James Dean and then she says it's Heartbreak Hotel.

The end of that sentence where the Youtube clip gets cut off is "...I lost somebody and that's what the Nightbird is about. So that's probably the most special one to me."

The quality on my dvd is much less and the interview is introduced by somebody else so I assume this was taped another day during another MTV show.

wow! thanks for posting this...i watched this interview live when MTV was on location covering the festival. haven't seen this since!

"wild...it's just wild...wild, do you hear me Mark??? I say it's wild baby!!!"

michelle2677 08-15-2007 08:16 AM

the above interview cracked me up. Could you imagine someone who didnt' know who stevie was, listening to that interview?

"she's wilder"

"who?? who's wild?" lol

and "I hear the call of the nightbird from the white winged dove"

LMAO WHO comes up with this ****?? I love her, but daaayummmmm

also-found this interview too.

"yeah, I can sing you the song but I'm not going to"
"it was that good, eh?"
"well...yeah"

stevie seems overly bitter in this interview (especially when it comes to lindsey). if not a bit arrogant.

She should have passed on Joe Walsh and thrown a lasso around this hunk instead. He looks good even today. He is on the left here.

In this interview, Mark Goodman says that this occasion was the first time MTV had done live interviews.

I love this one though. "No more Hamburger Helper!"

One of my favorites is still the 1986 Meldrum interview.
