The cousin of Fleetwood Mac's Christine McVie secures major record deal with Acorn Music Group

A TADLEY guitar teacher - who is also the cousin of Christine McVie, of Fleetwood Mac - has landed a major record deal.
Dave Reece, who teaches at the Hurst Community College, Baughurst, has just secured himself a deal with Acorn Music Group (Acorn Records and Acorn Publishing) known for their interests in material recorded by such diverse artists as Cliff Richard, James Brown, John Lennon and more.
Acorn Music will be releasing two of Dave Reece’s latest albums Clown for the Day and Sands of Kitty Hawk through worldwide downloads including iTunes, Napster, Sony Connect, 7digital and Amazon.
Inspired by musicians he has performed with, including Eric Clapton, Peter Green, American band, Sparks and others, he is set to join Acorn Music’s impressive list of songwriters.
"What first attracted me to Dave Reece was not only the music that he writes and makes now - but his musical history and pedigree with the people that he has known and worked with over the years,” says Mark Olrog of Acorn Music.
“He is also helping young artists and writers trying to make music their career through his expertise and experience. We also hope that by signing Dave, we will be able to use his obvious musical talents on other projects in the future."
Acorn is looking to get airplay from radio stations on both sides of the Atlantic for Clown for the Day and seeking key artists in the music industry in Nashville, Tennessee to record some of Mr Reece’s songs, which draw on rock, jazz and country influences.
“I am excited at the opportunity to work with some talented artists in the music industry by offering my song writing ability,” said Mr Reece.
“I also love the idea of my music being out there and available to all through worldwide downloads."
Mr Reece is also a business partner in Schael Guitars, of Tadley, with artist, Jeannette Schael, who creates individually customised, painted designs on guitars.

I wonder he is from her father's side or mother's?

Some families are just too talented for their own good
