Madeline Mccann... 100 days missing

I really can't imagine what this family must be going through. In my heart I don't think she's alive and I almost with they could find a body so the family could have some sort of closure.

It is so sad.
What kind of parents leave their children alone in a hotel room in a foreign
country and go have dinner?:distress:

Yeah... that's something I've not really been able to get my head around. I know when we've been abroad on holiday the kids have always been with us... either just up late or asleep in the pram!

i hate to be a totally cold-hearted biitch (well, most of the time anyway) but i can't believe the other two children haven't been taken away from this couple. it was child neglect to leave those three young children alone in a hotel room like that. not that i think they deserve to have had madeline taken or whatever happened to her. but i have to tell you, my sympathies are just a little lower for them. and no one has said boo about that.

and the latest? there are reports that madeline may have died in the room. and there are suspicions now about the parents.

Whoa! Hadn't heard about that one. But I agree with everyone above - the moment I heard this story my first reaction was "who leaves their kids alone in a strange place!?!" You just don't do that - especially when they're as young as these were :distress:

Where did you hear that? The latest on the news today is that the parents are not suspects at all...

BlackWidow 08-11-2007 06:59 PM

It is not good..not good at all in any scenario.

I can't find on the site where it tells what happened.

Nevermind- I found it. This story makes me sick and sad; I can't imagine leaving such small children alone in a hotel room.

i thought it was on BBC world... but i could be wrong. i heard that investigators are examining blood found in the room; dna indicates it was madeline's, and while investigators would not say anything, there was speculation they were now looking at the parents as potential suspects.

BUT - as i say, i heard it in passing, and can't remember where. i haven't been at work this week (i work in news) so i've been a little disconnected.

I'm sure at some point there was speculation, as in any murder case, investigators will always look at all possibilities. But then probably ruled out the parents when they had an alibi of being at the restaurant.

Praia da Luz is so British it's not even funny, it doesn't even look like Portugal in anyway, just a luxury resort for Brits. Anyway, they are focusing attention on some British dude who lives in the area.

I know I wouldn't. Can you imagine the weight of their guilt?
