iTunes upgrade questions

I don't buy videos very often, but when I just went to buy one, the iTunes store wouldn't let me. It said that I have to upgrade to 7.0 or greater. I don't have any trouble buying music with my 6.0 version. I'm scared that if I upgrade, I'm going to lose everything in my library & it'll cause all kinds of problems with my computer. So my questions are: Has anyone here upgraded to a higher version of iTunes, & did you have any problems?

Thanks.

Lee :)

sadly it's a risk you take each time you upgrade. but yes, each time you choose not to upgrade you may find that certain aspects of iTunes require that upgrade. the most important thing is that you always, always back up your stuff. I backup all my stuff to an external hard drive and anything that I purchase via iTunes is also backed up on cd. that said, each upgrade scares the hell out of me too. this latest upgrade does have a glitch if you are running Shapeshifter. if you upgrade and use Shapeshifter just put iTunes on your exclude list and then open it and then close it. go back into Shapeshifter and remove it from your exclude list and all should be fine. if you don't run or have Shapeshifter, I haven't heard of any glitches in this latest upgrade.

I always update to the latest versions and have never, never had a problem. Not sure what OS platform you're on, but I've used both without problems or losing any data.

If you have a PC, always start here: Apple iTunes
