Is "The Good Shepherd" the dullest movie ever made?
You know, I consider myself to be a person with a long attention span when it comes to movies. I once sat down and watched Heat followed by the Director's Cut of Das Boot with only two breaks to go the bathroom and get something to drink. Even when a movie's bad, I fight to the bitter end.
I swear to God, The Good Shepherd almost killed me. I gave up about two hours into what has to be the most terminally staid movie I've ever seen. I didn't care about any of the characters anymore, nor did I even know what the movie's plot was. I've seen anteaters with more pizazz than Robert De Niro's directing. If the movie wasn't boring enough already, it even starred William Hurt! Who would have thought the birth of the CIA could be so boring? |
I actually thought the movie was alright. I saw it in theatres. it was just confusing as hell! im not crazy about any of the actors in it either [deniro was good, but his part could have been in the movie for more scenes]. I think that you just have to be in to that kind of stuff [it was actually my dads idea to see it, i would have rather seen dreamgirls or the persuit of happyness  ] it was ok though, its def. not on my top movies list, nor would i see it again.

The Good Shepherd is a long movie. I liked it overall. Maybe you were just on movie overload?

I have to agree...the Good Sheppard was painful to sit through. Long and drawn out like a slow blade. I could barely get through it and not without many fidgets and wiggles...you know, a movie patron's worst nightmare sitting behind them!

I liked it, from what I remember.. It wasn't overly exciting though, but I didn't find it painful to sit through....
