Spencer Davis & Christine

Here's an article about Spencer Davis who went out with Chris back in her college days. He's just released a new album & is writing his autobiography. Chris is mentioned a few times in this article.

Thanks for posting this - very interesting

"I remember I was there with Christine McVie at the recording session of The Girl Is Mine with Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson for Michael's Off The Wall album"

At first I thought that meant Christine took part in the recording sessions but I dont think it does.

"I used to play with Christine Perfect - who went on to become Christine McVie" - that could easily be misconstrued :xoxo: As Christine has said their relationship was more musical than illicit I take it he meant play music with her

It is a little strange, I guess. I knew she had met McCartney in the studio back in the 1980's. He knew her as Christine Perfect. I'd never heard that Michael Jackson was involved & that it was the recording of "The Girl Is Mine".

Maybe Mr. Davis & McCartney are friends.

I thought "the girl is mine" was from 1982 or 1983....off the wall was around 79 or 80 so there may be a little mix up in time line there or confusion in album the song was on.

"The Girl Is Mine" was from 1982. It was on Thriller.

I still think it's weird to associate Christine with Michael Jackson in any way. I just don't see the two ever inhabiting the same room. Apparently, I am wrong!

Chris & Mick were presenters on the 1993 American Music Awards show. Michael Jackson was the winner of the category that they presented. Chris & Jackson even kissed after she gave him his award.

Well, there were other connections. Lindsey Buckingham being part of USA For Africa comes to mind.

But the more interesting example is that Dave Mason (who'd been a roadie for the Spencer Davis Group) had Michael Jackson sing on one of his songs on his "Old Crest On A New Wave" album. That song, ironically, was called "Save Me."
