I got up this morning and I picked up my Goddess Birthday Cake, with little candles in the shape of tambourines. Then when I got home I lighted some incense and nag champa, put on Bella Donna and played with my white cockatoo bird. After the bird got tired I put on Wild Heart and danced around the cake wearing my black shawl with gold dots on it, which is all part of a very intense wiccan birthday ritual. After that I waited by the phone for David Letterman to call me to congratulate me with my idol's birthday, but it took too long so I decided to harrass his management by playing I Can't Wait on repeat on their voicemail, after which I listened to the rest of Rock a Little. Then I invited over my friends Juliet and crazy Alice and we danced to The Other Side of the Mirror, wearing our Alice in Wonderland outfits, and gulping down a few shots of tequila. By the time the album ended I had too much to drink and I sent everyone home. I sat on my couch in a daze, feeling bloated from eating too much cake and listened to Street Angel. After the last tones of Jane faded away suddenly a Tom Petty song came on and that inspired me to get up and moving again. I felt reenergized and went in search of Trouble in Shangri-La, which I played front to back all the while shouting to all the planets in the universe that I wish The Goddess a very happy Nicksmas.
(I hope you're satisfied, Stew!)
