I have that performance on tape somewhere. It was a very strange era for Fleetwood Mac. Just a couple of weeks before, Mick, John, Christine, Lindsey & Stevie had played together for Clinton's inaugural gala... which was watched by millions. Then Mick, John & Christine played the Super Bowl... also watched by millions... alongside Billy & Rick. I'm sure quite a few people were confused.
I know there were a lot of stories going around that the 'Rumours' lineup was going to work on something, as well as appear together at the Super Bowl, but then Stevie told USA Today that the Clinton performance was a one-off thing, that she didn't know exactly who was going to be playing the Super Bowl as Fleetwood Mac, but that the lineup wouldn't include her and Lindsey.
And, of course, Rick had already left the band by that point... so I'm sure many fans were wondering if he had re-joined or what was going on. I know I sure was!
(He later clarified that he did it only as a favor to Billy... a comment I've always thought hinted at frosty relations at that time between he and the English Maccers.)

Well, now that we know he wasn't aware of this little factoid, we're going to demote him back to "Addicted Ledgie."
Sorry Ryan!
