The Shins sounding like Fleetwood Mac
 

Am I the only one who thinks the Shins sound like Fleetwood Mac on their new album?

At first I was hearing Danny Kirwan but someone else I know said the melodies sound a lot like Christine McVie.
And I have to agree. The production is not unlike Tango in The Night.
But they also are sounding like the Smiths on this new one, so go figya.

hmm. well, the comparison didn't strike me before but i guess both bands are guilty of crafting some wickedly tight pop tunes. interesting idea.

I can definately hear the influence...

hmmm. i can't say the comparison has occurred to me. wincing is one of my favourite albums of the past year - probably of the decade.

a sound i do hear in them is definitely the beach boys', though. even though i hate the beach boys.

go figure.
