A Lesson in Canadian Pronunciation
Sorta.
If you've seen the 1970 movie, Goin' Down The Road, you'll get the most out of the following, but if you haven't... Then you're one of many, so don't feel bad. I personally don't like it; my dad thinks it's the best movie ever made. Anyway! The discussion about voices & accents in the spring ahead thread made me think of this. It's from SCTV (I know, I know, here I go again), and they really lay on the Newfie and Canadian accents. Garth & Gord & Alice & Fiona (lol) is, of course, a parody of the aforementioned Goin Down the Road... If there's a better summary of the movie, I have yet to see it. :p (It's in two parts, blah. The second part is the best. Dere's a mouse in da hoos...) |
OMG - I have to get that "Young Street" song  |

Of course it flopped - nobody cares about Canada. Here, I'll bump it up out of pity for Lisa.
