Peanut Butter Recall

I know there's a bunch of Ledgies that love their peanut butter. They are recalling Peter Pan and Great Value jars with the product code starting with the numbers 2111, on the lid of the jar. Risk of contamination with Salmonella Tennessee (a bacterium that causes foodborne illness).

I have two jars Peter Pan at home with that code on the lid. One I've eaten from only a couple of times (Honey Roasted flavor) and the other (Sugar Free) I've been eating from regularly for the last few weeks - It's about 3/4 empty. I'm speculating I won't get sick from them since I've been okay so far. Nonetheless, I'm getting rid of them and probably won't eat any peanut butter for a while.

I have that product code number on my Peter Pan Peanut Butter. My dog, Bogart, & I ate some last Saturday. We haven't gotten sick, but I'm going to throw it out & get some new peanut butter when I go to the grocery store tonight. Better to be safe than sorry.

I eat peanut butter or cashew butter practically every day. But I choose reduced fat Jif.

Well...

Deb is the peanut butter eater in this family, unfortunately her Great Value peanut butter has the "2111" code.

Oddly she wasnt sick until I told her about the recall

This has been the second time in the past few months this has happened, last time was when the spinach recall happened (I just ate salad made of spinach the day before the recall - and the brand of salad recalled was the exact type I ate.)

I just checked - I have 2 jars of Peter Pan PB with that code - creamy (for me) crunchy (for hubby). I threw both of them out. We've eaten from them and haven't gotten sick, though.

I told them to eat Skippy! Bitches wouldn't listen.

Ya, I have the crunchy kind with 2111 on the lid. When I saw this flash across the news, I told Sara to go and get the peanut butter for me... what does she do? Sticks her finger in it, and takes a big ass bite! It's a brand new jar, too.... hope she doesn't get sick!

Yeah, shame on y'all for buying unhealthy fake peanut butter. If the oil isn't floating in the top before you stir it, that peanut butter is no good for you.
Laura Scudders, people, Laura Scudders. :p
