I Can't Wait - alt. mixes

Does anyone have these mixes that they could post for download?

I think Johnny Stew said that one of these mixes was actually on some kind of compilation CD released a while back. If anyone has that and can upload the mix that would be great.

Thanks in advance if you do.

Travis :)

I have that single! Unfortunately, not burned to a disc. :sorry:

Yep, my wish would be that there would be some kind of best of or remix cd that contained these alternate versions. The following singles were different than the album versions.

Leather and Lace (edit)
Edge of Seventeen (edit) (is available on a CD)
Stand Back (edit)
Nightbird (edit)
Talk To Me (alt. version) (is available on a CD that came out in 94 ish?)
I Can't Wait (soft intro on promo 45 only) (edit of lp on original 45)
Love's A Hard Game To Play (edited remix) (on cassingle but never a US commerical CD)
Maybe Love (remix) (UK single only)
Blue Denim (remix) (promo CD only)
Sorcerer (Shery Crow Edit) (promo CD only)

Ah well ...

Hey JF!

Thanks for these finds. Regarding the first one you posted, the DT stands for DiscoTech. As soon as I heard it I recognized it. DiscoTech was a remix service based here in MD, "Silver Springs" to be exact. How odd huh? Remember George? He used to do lights at a club in DC called Badlands and he worked with a DJ by the name of Lenny Gray. Lenny worked for DT. They also did a reworking of "Stand Back". That mix of Stand Back has samples of Rhiannon and Edge of 17 in it. I'm sure fans from back in the day remember that. Lenny may have worked on this mix of I Can't Wait, but I'm not sure - don't have the CD in front of me.

Regarding the 2nd link you posted, it's interesting because that mix starts out the same way the "edit of lp" does on the US 45 single, however, the rest of it is basically the same as the "rock mix", except that it fades instead of ending with a cold fade (the way it does on Enchanted Boxed set.) I have this mix on an import 12" and I just went to go find it. This mix is titled "7-Inch Mix." That is how it reads on the 12". It doesn't say what country it's from though, at least I don't see it. This is what the 12" looks like ...

Anyway ... just some info in case you or anyone cared.

Tre :D

Not sure if this is one of the versions you're looking for, but it's listed as "Rock a Little Alternates 9/17" on the master reels. I think it ultimately ended up on the UK 7" single. Here's a clean version of it...

Thanks Daniel, this is actually the same as the 2nd one that Jason posted, but yours has a higher bit rate and it fades out just a few seconds more. I appreciate both of you posting these for me. If I don't come across the actual "edit of lp" mix (the one that is on the original US 45 single) I'll use this one when I put together "bohemian rhapsody."

Thanks!

Tre :)
