Congressional Report Into OKC Bombing Released

WASHINGTON -- A two-year congressional inquiry into the Oklahoma City bombing concludes that the FBI didn't fully investigate whether other suspects may have helped Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols with the deadly 1995 attack, allowing questions to linger a decade later.

The House International Relations investigative subcommittee released its findings, declaring there is no conclusive evidence of a foreign connection to the attack but that far too many unanswered questions remain.

The subcommittee's report will conclude there is no doubt McVeigh and Nichols were the main perpetrators, and it discloses for the first time that Nichols confirmed to House investigators he participated in the robbery of an Arkansas gun dealer that provided the proceeds for the attack.

There have long been questions about that robbery because the FBI concluded McVeigh was in another state at the time it occurred.

The report also sharply criticizes the FBI for failing to be curious enough to pursue credible information that foreign or U.S. citizens may have had contact with Nichols or McVeigh and could have assisted their plot.

Edit: I just finished reading the 15 page report, and all I can say is the FBI & DoJ f**ked this case up bigtime. I mean this subcommittee can almost connect the dots for Ramsi Yusef (The first WTC bomber) to Terry Nichols, that is disturbing to me (The report makes it sound like Nichols needed some expert bomb building advice, and Yusef could have been the one to provide it.)

I saw this...I find it highly irresponsible that the FBI didnt delve into the possible connection with Al-Qaeda (sp?), especially since witnesses saw either McVeigh or Nichols speaking with a foreign national prior to the bombing...

I doubt either of our two boys had the knowledge to build decent bombs without outside help. I havent read the 15 page report, but the article I saw was a bit more fleshed out than the one Brian posted...this whole thing STINKS!

McVeigh in the moments before the bombing, in the passenger seat of the Ryder truck, not in the driver seat.

If if you have ever been to downtown OKC, you'll notice video camera everywhere, but yet there is no video evidence of the bombing. The only video evidence that is known is the Ryder truck pulling in front of the Regency Tower (Highrise appartment building) as it stopped at a redlight.

According to the 15 page report, Michael Fortier testified that McVeigh & Nichols detonated a bomb in the Arizona desert in late 1994 that was considered a dud. Who helped to perfect the bomb that exploded on April 15,1995?

If Fortier's testimony is truthful, and he and Nichols backed out of the idea of bombing the Murrah building, then how was Terry Nichols pickup truck also videotaped by the Regency Towers video camera on the Sunday before the bombing? How was McVeigh able to park his getaway car in downtown OKC, with a message attached to it stating it broke down and he would return to pick it up in a few days, and yet make it back to Kansas without help from Nichols?

How was Nichols able to visit the Phillipines (A hotbed terrorist site) on three occassions when he did not have a steady job? How was Nichols able to save $20,000 to give to his ex-wife should anything ever happen to him? Why was Nichols in fear of his life when he visited the Phillipines if he went with the intention of finding a "mail order bride"? Why did Nichols have a book entitled "The Chemistry of Powder and Explosives" on the trips to the Phillipines? How the hell did the FBI miss finding explosives under the floorboards of Nichols house back in 1995, yet they were just discovered in 2005 after Nichols let it be known?

A couple days before the bombing, Who was the other person in the hotel room with McVeigh when a pizza was delivered to the room? Why has the government said that John Doe 2 was just a mis-identified soldier who rented a Ryder truck later in the same day that McVeigh did, When the owner/workers at the rental place said McVeigh was in the company of another person? How did the FBI allow a person who may have had contact with McVeigh to leave the US, then the FBI decides to interview this person of interest only after-the-fact via telephone (German national Andreas Strassmeir)? Whose severed leg, that was found in camouflage fatigues, was discovered in the rubble of the Murrah bombing, When the State Medical Examiner said it did not belong to any of the 168 dead? Why was an APB broadcast immediately after the bombing for officials to be on the lookout of a truck with 2-3 occupants of 'Middle Eastern' decent seen leaving the Murrah site in a 'pannicky mindset'? (One can be out of downtown OKC onto I-40 in less than 5 minutes on a normal day-I can usually do it in less than 10 minutes on a congested traffic day.)

People talk 'bout a 9/11 conspiracy...I think the OKC Bombing is a more telling conspiracy.

I dont know about conspiracy, but certainly there is more to this than meets the eye...I can very easily see the involvement of terrorists in this scenario...
