Six Degrees of Separation

This is a philosophy I can't help but believe in... and I'll make myself crazy working the steps. :wavey:

I recently found out I am only ONE person away from an ABBA connection!
A friend of mine, who plays on Bekka's cd and she sings on his, actually wrote and had a No. 1 European hit with "Once Burned, Twice Shy" recorded by Agnetha Faltskog (ABBA) on her solo project: "Wrap Your Arms Around Me".

First Fleetwood Mac now ABBA.
I'm speechless.... what are the odds?

Anyone else got "degreed" connections?

I don't think I have any six degrees. Oh, my mom taught Jayne Eastwood's son... Canadian peeps will know her... I met her for like, two seconds. She's worked with SCTV folks, so... Figure that one out.

My mother spent a couple of years with her family in Germany when she was a teenager and a couple of doors down lived a "spinster" (God I love that word!). Anyway, every summer, this spinster's nephew Ricky would come and visit. He was about a year or two older than my mother and he developed a pretty big crush on her, but she didn't return the affection because, according to her, he had "greasy hair and all we would do is sit on his aunt's front porch, playing his guitar all day long."

Anyway, greasy, lazy, guitar playing Ricky turned out to be Eric Clapton.

Whoa! That's an amazing story!!!

Well once my mom was on the beach San Diego (my dad was stationed there) and she and her friend were just chillin' out - well this tall black guy ran by and kicked sand all over them....

He stopped and helped them clean, he was very apologetic...so my mom and her friend just sat around chatting it up with him....asked him to join them, so he did for a while.

When he was leaving he asked if they liked basketball and both said, "No"

Ok - then a few days later my mom is at home and my dad is watching The Lakers game on TV - and my mom says about one of the players.."HEY!!! That's the man who talked to us on the beach!!"

Yeah..that man was Kareem Abdul Jabar.

lol..does that count? My mom told me that one...heh...

Cool stories!

Well, my aunt went to school with John Denver (Arlington Heights High School in Fort Worth, Texas) and the story in my family is he asked her to marry him...she turned him down. Wish I knew more details about this.

Also, my mom used to work on the set of Walker, Texas Ranger, and knew Chuck Norris and the cast/crew very well. She took pictures for a little while on the set.
