Midler Calls Britney a Slut And Urges Her To Get "Nicer"

The singer/actress admits she's had wild times, just like the party girls, but she would never have left her home without underwear and was appalled to see pictures of the girls baring all in recent photographs. She tells US news show Extra, "I've been on the other side to these wild and woolly sluts that we are seeing around our lives these days and I've taken the other side. I started my life out as pretty wild, but I have decided, after much growing and living, that its time that we got nicer! And I'm wearing underwear, a lot of underwear. In fact I'm wearing all the underwear that those girls are not wearing - at least two bras and several pairs of panties." And she has a stern message for Hollywood's leading party girls: "Get a life, get a grip. I mean someone should sit those ladies down."

This from the woman that came out for an encore dressed in only a robe and decided to FLASH the entire audience. Still, it's not bad advice. :nod:

uh, after seeing those pics, the last thing i would call any of those girls is "woolly." :D

Oh poor Bette, she is really showing her age now. When she was their age being "wild" and now looking in retrospect, I think she is calling the kettle black... um just thinking out loud here... :rolleyes:

yeah, i mean, it's advice.. but it's a little crazy to be like, "Hey slut, be NICE."

I'm not really inclined to take the advice of someone who just called me a slut, if yknow what I mean.

Actually I think Britney Spears looks older than Bette Midler. There's a difference between being wild in the 70s and be pathetic-cocaine addicted-alcoholic- vulgar-unreliable-rude-potentialy dangerous for themselves and the others- spoiled-twentysomething party idiots (just doing a summary of the two characters).

I agree......Bette made her NAME being outrageous. it wasnt until she got tied up with Disney and got married, and had a kid that she (all of a sudden) became respectable. PUH LEEZ.

At least Bette was hilarious and had the talent to back it all up.

as for who gives a rats a**, I'd say YOU do. You are a Bette fan, and are willing to excuse any amount of disingenuousness on her part. Hmmmm. lets hope she's a good speller too.

Bette's comments sort of remind me of the ones that Stevie made about Brittney a few years back.:shrug:

Course, she's young yet........when she gets to be Stevie's or Bette's age, Im sure she'll have some thoughtful advice for the next up and comers.......wouldnt you think?
