And a Merry, albeit...
early Christmas to you:

Happy Sinterklaas to you too. :wavey: The kids unpacked all the presents yesterday though, but it was fun. As always, I put up my Christmas decorations today because in our apartment we have a rule not to put them up until after Sinterklaas.

Thanks, but here he

I know, you Germans have a Christkind. We still have St. Nicholaas though and he comes by during the night of Dec 5th-6th. All the kids put their shoe near the chimney or door and leave a carrot and some water for St. Nicholaas' horse. In the morning it's filled with presents. Kids are so friggin' spoiled here, they get a big holiday with presents twice in the same month. ;)
I think right across the border from here in Germany they still celebrate St. Nicholaas the traditional way... |
"Spoiled" kids
Believe me, the kids here are "spoiled" as well
The Christmas presents are called here in the Frankfurt area "Christkindchen" (i.e. little Christkind) as well. As it is in Czech Republic "Jezisek" i.e. little Jesus Do you know the lady here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3YlBZ2VFzs |
Heh
I think Americans have the World beat in the spoiled department.
I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday...whenever and however you celebrate it. :) |
