Stevie and corsets....

I don't know, it just seems like the kind of thing she would do...!

I've recently got quite interested in corsets and it struck me that Stevie with the whole Dickensian-gothish-witchy thing going on -- did she ever wear them?
There was the whole bustier thing around 87 and she has a fab figure anyway .... did she ever lace in?

Just curious!

I was friends, at one time, with a good friend of hers who relayed the story of how he helped lace up her corset backstage before a show in Philadelphia on the Mirror tour. That was actually the first time I ever saw Stevie live. She moved around very little on stage so maybe they laced her up too tight

From my understanding, she doesn't go onstage without one.

Oh, absolutely. How do you think the 2 Birds of Rhiannon are able to perch up there so high & proud? ;)

I doubt she's been onstage without one since the Tango tour. And some of them have been startlingly tight looking. Like, body cast tight.

No wonder she doesn't try the high notes. She can barely breathe, let alone sing.

Actually, the support should be helping her stomach muscles stay tight but then again she may not be able to inhale enough air to push the notes out.

On the Tango and BTM tours, I swear her shoulders and hips were always in a line the corsets were so tight. Her torso was immobile. If she bent forward the damn thing would have blown off her and injured or killed a band member.

^ Thank God none of the boning never came loose from the fabric. One piece could have killed someone had it burst forth like a boomerang.
