Anybody else pick this one up yet?

Classic Seger. Great songwriting. Great mix of soft ballads and more rocking tunes. I am absolutely loving it.

And can I just say - with new albums by Billy Burnette, Tom Petty, Bob Seger, and (very soon) Lindsey Buckingham - that 2006 is the best year ever?

and I was sad because Bob Seger was one of my Mother's favorite musicians.

Havent heard any tracks as of yet, so how does it compare to his older albums?

I saw Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band in Tulsa 1986 (Frankie Miller was the opening act) and that was a great show...I still own the tourbook from that show (Rick Vito was the lead guitarist for Seger back then).

Well, Seger has one of those "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" kind of sounds that never changes yet is always great and he's kept with that for this album. A lot of his fans are calling it his best since Against the Wind and it definitely has classic written all over it. If you go to his MySpace page, you can listen to three of the new songs - "Wreck This Heart," "Wait for Me," and "Real Mean Bottle" (duet with Kid Rock). Apparently the album debuted at number 4 on Billboard. He's supposed to be taking it on the road either later this year or early next year and I'm hoping to be able to catch a show or two.

Gotta get me some Seger. Love him. He has some great biker tunes. Nice video too. How come the guys I ride with don't look like that? :cool: :laugh:

Love love love the Bob. Live him. Saw him live in '96 & he put on one of the best show I've ever seen.

Now. The new album. I have to say, it's a little disappointing. :sorry: I don't hate it, but it will have to grow on me quite a bit. It strikes me as a little bland, to be honest. I'll give it time & keep listening. I really hope he comes here if he actually goes through with the rumoured short tour - I'd see him again in a hearbeat. :nod:

You'll be fine. Be careful though! That's the only way you're gonna get good, is to ride. I remember my first few rides a few years ago, scary! My very first big downhill, oh my! I think I was only in second gear :o and I looked in my mirror and there was a whole line of traffic behind me, I was so nervous, and my husband was down at the bottom of the hill, looking at his watch, shaking his head :laugh:

His voice sounded kind of shot on The View last week!

Goddammit. No Buffalo date.

I love Bob Seger and he is on my list of people I still need to see in concert. Haven't heard the new album yet.

They are going to add shows to the tour. I read an article that said those dates are just a handful.

Well unfortunately, this album (along with Lindsey's) is not yet released in New Zealand. And I am wanting to kill whoever is responsible for that :mad:
