SHUT UP AND SING: New Dixie Chicks Documentary
 

The Dixie Chicks new documentary "Shut Up and Sing" premiered this week here at the Toronto Film Festival. Here's the press conference and trailer if anyone's interested. I'd like to see it, it looks pretty good.

I applaud the DC for speaking their minds. But, when you comment on something, you have to take what happens as a consequence. And - to their credit and despite the media blowing what she initially said WAY out of proportion and making her and them scapegoats - they stood by it and are finding a way to hang in there if not make money off of it.

I've read somewhere (I think on D-Listed) that they call Bush a "dumb f*** in this documentary LOL.

In that clip one of them said that the Red Cross refused to take $1 million bucks from them as a donation because George Bush was the honorable chairman or something like that...

It just makes me laugh at all the silly people in the US who vilified and continue to boycott them because of what they said and their views. How can you justify fighting for another countrys freedom in the world and their ability to have freedom of speech when you won't even allow that of your own country men without raking them over the coals - essentially scarying anyone else from speaking their mind because of reprocussions. God forbid they or anyone in the US has an opinion that isn't aligned with the current governement.

I heard Natalie tell Howard Stern that awhile back, and I couldn't f**ken believe it!! :eek: :distress:

Natalie also says in the press conference that this would never happen in Canada. I never really thought about it before, but she's right.

The Chicks are playing like 8 cities in Canada and have added a second nite to some. I'm going to go see them in October when they're here.

For Chick Lover's: they are going to be on Oprah tomorrow (Wednesday), along with Madonna.

I also got an e-mail from VH-1 today - they have a new Storytellers episode premiering this Saturday at 9 PM.

I don't get VH1 :cool: I'll have to wait for a year for it to come on Much More Music (our pathedic version of VH1) :(

me too. I stand by DC for speaking their mind...plain and simple. they can say whatever they want. I (or anyone else) don't have to like it or agree with it.

I saw a bit of them on Larry King last night. I love that they've made a documentary and I hope they make millions.

I also found it interesting that they are the biggest selling all-girl group of all time. beating Destiny's Chirrens and the Supremes and TLC and all that...

From all the clips I've seen, I cannot wait to see this doc. The more I see these red neck retards saying things like "freedom of speech is fine, as long as you don't do it publicly", huh :confused: It just shows you the mentality of these dumb f**k Dixie Chick haters :laugh: I bet you they're all eating crow right now and feeling pretty stupid, considering the mess of the war.

Theresa, I love you, but I wish you wouldn't bottle up your feeling like this. Don't hold it all in, let it out hon. Tell us how you really feel - you'll feel so much better afterwards.
