Is a 2007 tour a sure thing?

I may have missed where this was discussed, but are we certain that FM is doing a 2007 tour or is it only speculation?

i'm pretty sure it's speculation. i think john may have hinted at something in his q&a. but with lindsey's upcoming solo projects and mick's reforming of the zoo, i really doubt anything will happen next year as a collective fm tour.

the question should be regarding the "electric" version of Lindsey's. Is it actually done? I think I recall it wasn't quite finished. Maybe he said it was 3/4 done (too lazy to reread numerous posts on LB board). Gee, could that missing 1/4 be Stevie? In other words, will this electric album morph into a FM album? Yes, it could. AND...who is playing bass and drums on that record? If it aint mcvie/fleetwood then i doubt it will morph into a fm album.

Stevie has told fans about it, too. I think she told a fan from this board that FM was probably coming back to Oz next year as well. I read a review from a fan who attended a Petty show and met Stevie backstage over on Seven Wonders and Stevie did say that the FM tour next year was a "farewell" tour. Jana and Taku have both been asked about an upcoming FM tour and one or both said rehearsals were starting early next year. (January) I am sure stuff could change but I don't think Lindsey's supposed electric cd will change any scheduled FM tour. He could even use the platform to do some of his new solo songs. (didn't Tom Petty just do that? Don't the Eagles do that?) I am sure Mick wants to milk the anniversary.

But really, don't only the diehards care about it being the 40th Anniversary?

I HOPE they'll do something special.....but instead they'll just tour to support Rumours again.

Well the Zoo (now just called the Mick Fleetwood Band) is just a casual thing. Billy Burnette and George Hawkins are currently touring with John Fogerty, so I doubt it would be something that would stop a Fleetwood Mac tour. But, in an interview made during the Mick Fleetwood Band rehearsals, Mick said that there would be a Fleetwood Mac tour in 2007. Given comments by John and Stevie, I would say that a Fleetwood Mac tour in 2007 isn't speculation at this point.

What is speculation is what type of tour it will be. I think if it's a farewell tour or a 40th Anniversary tour, it would have to be pretty different from the last two tours. I know Stevie has said that it's going to be a farewell tour, but I don't know if Mick and John are ready for that, yet. It'll be interesting to see what happens in the next year or so.

I wanted to see him a couple of weeks ago (opening for Willie Nelson...now THAT's a ticket!), but I already had tickets to B.B. King.

Tours usually follow an album.. and there's no evidence of an upcoming album yet

Sure there is. If there's not a NEW album, they'll find SOME reason to re-release Rumours yet again.

 he's right...

So wouldn't that make it the 30th anniversary tour, not the 40th?? Rumours came out the year I was born and, ack!.. I'll be 30 next year.

I don't see the point unless it's going to be a spectacular affair with past members making an appearance.

If it's just another "Greatest Hits" tour so Mick can pay his tax bill then I think I'll pass

Gail
