New Planets
Now this is what you call a "Planets of the Universe remix".
(sorry, I couldn't resist) http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14364833/ Pretty interesting stuff nonetheless. |
I LOVE this kind of stuff. If I had the money, I would soooooooo go into outer space!
|
So they finally decided what a planet is. :D
Personally, I like this idea. I mean, if you're going to call Pluto a planet, then the others are too. |
How odd is it that they've never formally defined what a planet is until now.

I always thought Pluto was just an animated Disney character. :] :D  |
Ceres is 975 kilometers in diameter.
Using Bruckheimer logic, no one would see it coming until it was 12 days away from hitting the Earth. And only Bruce Willis and a gang of retarded oil drillers could stop it. With one nuclear bomb. |
Grr..they've then been debating Pluto for years. I'm a big defensive about it though because that PLANET's discoverer, Clyd Tombaugh, lived in my hometown and was a long time professor at the University.
When I was about 8 or 9 I was obsessed with space - I used to carry around a folder with all the information I'd gathered about the solar system...well my mom took me to meet Dr. Tombaugh - it was such a cool experience. So yeah - no scientific reason that I want Pluto to be kept a planet (thereby adding more planets to the system) I just feel bad for the late Dr. Tombaugh. |
2003 UB 313? If this is going to be a planet we need a better name.
|
Three newly identified planets, three birds of Rhiannon. Coincidence? Ha!:D
