Rhode Island Lighthouse Photos

I thought that I would share some photos that I took over this past weekend.

This one was hard to get a good photo of because there were always people around. It is the 3rd oldest lighthouse in the USA.

Beavertail Lighthouse, Jamestown, RI

Thanks. I can't wait to see what my film photos will look like. I can't even believe that I have lived in RI all my life and have never gone to these places.

Those are beautiful photos, & magnificent lighthouses. I'm a lighthouse lover. I love visiting & touring lighthouses.

One of my favorite small lighthouses out here on the West Coast is Point Penis Lighthouse in Pacific Grove. The docent dresses in period clothes & takes the groups on a tour of the structure, providing history, anecdote & context.

I haven't seen that in a long time. This is my favorite picture of it. We had a house very close to there one summer and besides the lighthouse one of my favorite things was the fog horn. I miss the ocean badly. :o

David, Did you mean Point Pinos Lighthouse? :o

Sounds like a cool place to visit. I hope to get to take a lighthouse cruise on the bay the end of August.

Lighthouses have always made me think of death. Dunno why. I used to have dreams as a kid where the two were connected.

I love lighthouses too, tho here in CA, ours dont have the patina of history quite the same way the East Coast ones do....

Point Penis, what a name

Hm, that's really interesting- you're not the first person I've heard say that.
