Ask Stevie

I thought we'd have our own Ask Stevie right here, since Stevie & her onliners don't exactly keep a steady flow going.

The major drawback with our Ask Stevie would be that Stevie herself wouldn't be participating. But I feel we can turn that disadvantage into an advantage. We could write longer responses than Stevie is usually inclined to write, & also we wouldn't have to wait for months for the site owner middleman to file our questions through the pipeline.

So feel free to use this Ask Stevie thread to either ask Stevie or respond!

My first Ask Stevie question:

Dear Stevie:

Do you still have that hitch in yer gittalong? I saw you about ... I don't know ... a few years ago with Fleetwood Mac in L.A. & you limped around a bit, as if you were carelessly spry the day before--or like Brick in "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," who got drunk & tried to run the hurdles at the high school track field at 2 in the morning & wound up spending the next few months on crutches.

BlackWidow 08-01-2006 03:21 PM

Dear Stevie:
Do you really own a Unicorn?
What is Lindsey like in bed?
What did you think of Camper Beethoven's versions of your Tusk songs?
What is the most annoying faction of FM fans? Is Stand Back about your doomed marriage to Kim Anderson? Who is your favorite back up singer?
Whatever became of Glenn Parrish?
What is your least favorite album you recorded?
Is Don Henley a jerk?
What happened to the planned Melbourne DVD?
Will you ever do another solo album?
Are you secretly glad Christine is gone?
Will you ever sing STORMS live?
Does Karen Johnson answer your ASK STEVIE questions on The Nicks Fix?

Stevie's response:
My hip is fine now, David ~ thank you for asking. I wrote a song about it called "Get Back On That Hip"... but... it may be ~too~ dark for my next album.

Silly me - I thought he was limping from the year ago session with his friend Skipper.

I,of course, am Big Daddy and, strangely enough, I can see you in the roll of Big Mamma

Goldie is Maggie the Cat!

I think they're great. It's always fun to listen to what other people hear in my songs.

The stalkers. Especially the one guy who thought I could cure him of being gay!

No! It's about Lindsey. Don't you know ALL my songs are about Lindsey in some way, shape or form? Unless they're about Mick. Or about everything else that's going on in my life.

Maybe. I still have a lot to say, but I might just release a few songs on iTunes when I'm ready to.

No way! She's the only member of the band who can take Lindsey one-on-one!

Sex Questions

Dear Stevie ~ Would you please describe the sexual style the following men, using just one word for each? This is for my private rock and roll fantasy.

Lindsey Buckingham

Mick Fleetwood

Don Henley

Joe Walsh

Jimmy Iovine

Tom Petty

I know there are oh so many more, but this is a good start. Thanks!

DestinyRules, that unicorn comment is pretty much the best thing I've read.

David, do you think Stevie really answers the questions on the Nicksfix or do think John Kinney just uses one of those Magic 8 balls?

edit: oh, here's my question... "what does Lindsey smell like? Does he have that old man smell yet"?

Well, that's a good question. For myself, I don't think the entity everyone conveniently calls "Stevie Nicks" actually exists, at least in ontological, positivistic terms. I believe "Stevie Nicks" is in fact a wonky parsing module, possibly a U.S. Armed Forces project of some sort.

I mean, takes iPods to wounded war vets? Performs at White House go-ins & go-outs? Attacks goofy, indecisive guitarists in driveways? Wears ugly shoes & pretty skirts? Festoons tambourines & booms with .... colored ribbons??

If that's not Army Top Secret, I don't know what is, Ken.
