Need Help!!

ok. I wasn't planning on posting this thread, but I need help asap! I'm at the library and logged into my email. It always asks me if I want the computer to remember me and I always hit "no". "well. I accidentally hit "yes" and now anyone has to do is log into gmail. type in an "m" and there is my address and password. How do I make it stop?!!!!

ps. I'm sure this is very easily fixed. I'm just completely oblivious when it comes to computers. :o

I just tried that, but it won't let me because I'm at the library :( anything else???

For a fast answer, ask one of the librarians. Hopefully they are techno savy. Good luck! I hope they can help you quickly.

I just did. Her response:

"when we turn off the computers tonight, it will wipe everything clean and it won't show up"

hm....glad she could help.

well...I guess I'll just have to wait until tomorrow and hope it actually DOES get rid of it and no one gets in between now and then :(

thanks for everyone's help :D

1. Log on to GMail.

2. Click Settings from the menu at the top. The Settings dialog area will appear.

3. Click the Accounts tab at the top.

4. Click the Google Account Settings link to reset your password.

Edit: David, as ever, has the perfect answer!

See, I think the Remember Your Password feature is a Windows feature, so deleting cookies doesn't clear it. It's a useful feature, but can become a problem if:

1. you share a computer with others.
2. you forget your user name & password & then the Windows feature malfunctions.
3. you get a new computer without knowing your old passwords.

I used to post on the Black Ledge using the Remember Your Password feature, but I used that feature for so long that I forgot my user name & password--Windows just handled it for me every time. But when I got a new computer, I of course lost my user name & password in the bowels of Windows!

If the hard-drives on their computers are locked like ours (I'm a librarian), then she's right -- everything will return to the original settings when they're re-started and your information will be gone.

For your peace of mind, you could ask her to log the computer off while you're still there. :)

And IE should be set so that it doesn't save any passwords.

Dave, have you ever enjoyed the wild rice grown in the bogs of Minnesota? This product is essentially a type of marsh grass grown in the bogs of Minnesota & Wisconsin.
