The Highwayman Vs. Beauty and the Beast
 

I know these songs are difficult to compare but I have recently converted my friend to a mac/Stevie fan and have lent her everything up to Rock a Little and she says she thinks BATB is crap and that The Highwayman is fantastic. I disagree. The Highwayman is good..BATB is AMAZING! Any thoughts peeps?

I don't think there is any contest between the two - and I think most Ledgies would agree with that.

'Beauty & the Beast' is one of Stevie's most heartfelt and amazing songs - and while 'The Highway Man' is nice enough - it is not on the level of 'Beauty & the Beast'

'The Highway Man' is possibly the only song on 'Bella Donna' I get tempted to skip.....

The Highwayman is a listen-to-once-every-six-months song.

Highwayman is one of my fav.'s ever. I think the lyrics are better than B&B - but they are both great to me.

Beauty is a bigger favorite of mine, but I think Highwayman is a better song.

Sheesh. Odd. BATB is a different animal. The Highwayman is okay, but I cannot take seriously any song that begins with the word alas.

It always brings to mind a lass or an ass.

I think Beauty and the Beast is probably the strangest song Stevie ever took on the road. It's like her very own rock opera.

The Highwayman, no contest. BATB is too masturbatory and ... something ... for me. Kind of like HAEWAFY. Ugh.
