Ok. This is my favorite movie of all time and I can pretty much talk along with the whole damn thing.

But the other day I got into a discussion with someone over Ouisa's dog's name!

Is it Rex or Red?? I can't make out in the movie which it is - and I've always thought it was Rex - whereas this fellow I was talking to swears it's Red.

My SM confidence has been shaken...anyone know the dog's name?

I do believe it's Rex, but I'm not 100% either. I'll have to go home and watch it now!

Rhett!?! I've never even considered that. Hrm. I've been trying to find out via google, IMDB and the rest of the 'net, I'm just not having very good luck.

Just watched it again and I'm pretty sure it's neither. Sounds like Rhett to me

I never even considered that the dog's name would be Rhett - but I did research with that name - and it appears we have a definitive answer.

So I was wrong, my friend was wrong....and now my universe is crumbling ;) Seriously - that was the one mystery of this movie for me.

5th grade - and I remember playing Steel Magnolias with my best friend in her playhouse :laugh:

I always made my friend be Annelle...I think I was Truvy :lol:
