Weedsport '86 Up
 

I'm still transferring tapes to binary zeros & ones. Here's the Westwood One radio broadcast of Weedsport NY (Cayuga County Fairgrounds) broadcast on Sept. 6, 1986. The date of the show is in question. In my RAL tour itinerary, Cayuga is listed for June 20 & Aug. 15, but I think that's a cancellation & rescheduling showing up in the document. Plus, a bunch of other fans have the performance listed as June 7, 1986 (which is listed as the first of three nights at Jones Beach in the itinerary). So somebody needs to settle the performance date--maybe by digging up a New York-area review or by comparing bits & pieces with surrounding RAL shows on tape (compare the vocal vamp on "Rhiannon" for example). Finally, the show was apparently originally aired with "Has Anyone Ever" but I don't have that on my tape. Maybe someone else can post that--is it legitimate or did a fan just tack on something from another recording?

So Stevie performed June 8th and June 9th at Jones Beach

I believe Cayuhoga County Fairgrounds was originally rained out and later performed on August 15, 1986 and aired later in September.

I have a scan of the ticket stub from August 15, 1986

Fabulous! It's been years since I've heard this show, how nice to have it online now instead of a wobbly old cassette. Is this the original vocal from the show? I thought I heard somewhere once that the Westwood One broadcast had re-dubbed vocals ala 'Live At Red Rocks'. Can someone confirm? David?

These vocals are authentic, Pete. Eric, could you send me your scan of your Weedsport ticket? You may have solved my mystery! Luckily, I tagged all these MP3s "8.15.86" before I sent them.

Also, what's the deal with "Has Anyone"? Was the situation similar to the Westwood One broadcast of the Irvine Meadows Fleetwood Mac show in 1997? The 1st broadcast was the "full" show, & subsequent radio broadcasts dropped some songs off the playlist (like "Temporary One" & "Oh Daddy").

Not to change the subject, David... but do you have that broadcast? I've always wanted the full-length concert. I once sent off a money order to a fellow who posted on FM Legacy, and claimed to have the entire show.
Once he had my money, I never received the discs or received a reply to any of my emails.

That's what I get for paying instead of trading.

Yes indeed, I taped that off the radio onto a high-bias tape. So I'll transfer that next. I never found the radio station CDs for the first broadcast, but I do have the CDs for a subsequent broadcast, when about four or five songs were dropped. (I bought those CDs from the Old Hippie, who used to advertise in Goldmine)

Mystery solved! Other people's tourdates pages are wrong (again). Weedsport radio show was recorded Aug. 15, 1986! thanks, eric!

May 27, 1983 -- Las Vegas NV, Did this gig actually occur? Who was in the band?

July 19, 1983 -- Was this show at the Toronto CNE Bandshell canceled? Rescheduled?

Thanks for the dates, I got a copy of this show from a fellow from texas 12years ago, he had written june 20,1986 on the labels.clean copy.he used to advertise in Goldmine, I got loads of Stevie/FM from him and he was very honest
to deal with.
