Nacho Libre!!!

Sorry, I'm laughing just thinking about it. I know one of you must have seen it by now, is it funny? Lame? Are all the funny parts just in the commercial?

I don't think it comes out until Friday. I does look funny and I like Jack Black so I might go see it.

I heard it came out last Friday, but I've been looking, and I believe you're right. :(
I guess I should've checked before the thread...

All I know is my reporters have gone to the screening of the movie tonight. That should be fun to listen to them talk about it and write a review of it.

El hombre de los Tenacious D para la grande mass? Muy bueno! El cinema gigante! (geez, can you tell yet that I took French in school?)

I love the old El Santos movies so I think I might like this. El Santos was always a bad guy on the old Canadian wrestling tv shows, but I figure our guys went down there and took their turns as villains.

They said Jack Black was pudgy and chubby in the paper today and compared him to John Candy and Chris Farley, but then they also used to call Clinton 'fat boy', but I don't know, I don't think Jack is anywhere near as massful as Candy or Farley were. I loved High Fidelity of course, and the Tenacious D songs. Black deserves to be big, but not big big, I mean big but not large, or you know, huge but not like heavy or anything, because that wouldn't be healthy.

From what I've seen in previews it looks pretty bad, but that's just me.

trackaghost 06-15-2006 01:28 PM

Well Amber you know I'm gonna love this, cos I love Jack Black (not as much as Will Ferrell but then he is king).
It's directed by the guy who did Napoleon Dynamite btw, Jared Hess.
I'm looking forward to the Ricky Bobby movie with Will as a race car driver more though.

I noticed that it was the same director, and I got pretty excited. I don't usually love those "stupid" movies, but obviously this is a huge exception.
I haven't seen any adverts for the Will Ferrell movie yet! Is it a funny kind?
Aw, I wish I could see Nacho with you.

It could just be my taste. I'm not sure. I think I'll wait for the DVD.

 Me too. I laugh a lot at movies like this too, so we'd have a fab time.

The new Will Ferrell movie is by the same team as Anchorman. And Sacha Baron Cohen (Ali G) is in it too!

I'm almost embarrassed by how much I love the Ferrell. Almost.

Omigod! "My two sons, Walker, and Texas Ranger"
Hey, and that other guy is in it! The one who was his friend in Boogie Nights!

I see he's managed another underwear scene....

You've got to own a preference like that. It's not your fault, you are irresistably drawn to Cancers and their hypnotic goofy powers.

trackaghost 06-15-2006 01:55 PM

Yep, John C Reilly is in it. He's tres cool too.
I love the blind driving bit, that always makes me laugh, although naming the sons Walker and Texas Ranger is pure genius

Anchorman and Elf were terrific. :) How about David Spade's Joe Dirt? That had some great moments too, with that lucky meteorite. Another good one was Ace Bigalow Male Gigallo with Rob Sneider.

ELIUD 06-16-2006 03:46 PM

I'm going to see it this weekend. The commercials are so funny I have to rewind them every time I see a new one. Love Jack Black and Tenacious D, and I liked Napoleon Dynamite for its site gags and the visual comedy so I'm betting this movie will be way better.

Plus I love wrestling so it's a win win for me!
