Only 10 seconds but great anyway.

On another note (no pun intended), I sure miss Stan Lynch. Even after all these years, I can't get used to hearing the Heartbreakers play their old material with Steve Ferrone on drums. It's like hearing a weird mix of the Heartbreakers & somebody's solo band. Stan's style was so recognizable--he was like Mick: hand him anything & he would make it sound as if he himself wrote the drum part.

So, even with the quicker pace they play it at, it still sounds drony.

The fidelity of the recording is quite poor and I wonder if the pitch is shifted from the compression/recording equipment?

Anyway, thanks so much CatDancer, for posting - I am excited to see this! It is so great to see all of these photos and hear soundclips from the shows!

Eh, they probably didn't mind.

Benmont definitely did. Having to play a song in Db on the B3 is a decided pain.

Very cool....110% better when Waddy's not singing with Stevie on this song...

JazmenFlowers 06-12-2006 11:10 AM

cool. I love the stage...the lights.

Thanks for posting, Deb! :) If only his St. Louis concert were in mid to late July instead of the week before 'Phantom'. :(

You're welcome. I wish they would do some shows in the North West. Tom Petty is coming here on July 30 but without Stevie (at least, as far as I know) :(

david, i've been thinking about this. they weren't playing in Db, they were playing in c#, which is only 4 sharps, and not too much of a pain on a keyboard.

and besides, if she doesn't have the range she just doesn't have it! i think they sound great, three notches lower or no. :)

Db & C# are in practical terms exactly the same thing. To me, playing that song in Db on a Hammond would be a big pain in the butt because you can't "palm" the white notes--well, maybe Benmont can. He's pretty magical.

Thanks, catdancer, for posting!
