It was a bit more than a meet and greet. He and his daughter picked me up from the airport and I spent time with them all three days that I was over there and even briefly visited his house.
I can safely say that he's one of the kindest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting and anyone who lives in or near Nashville/Franklin area should do themselves a favor and go see him the next time he plays a gig. He puts on a rockin' kick-ass show heavy with original tunes but also with some rather surprising covers - including the Peter Green songs "The Green Manalishi" and "Oh Well."
Unfortunately I managed to break my camera just before the show so I don't have any photos to share yet, but one of the other fans took plenty of shots, including the requisite one of me and Walter, so I'll be sure to share those when I get them from her. I also fully intend to go out there again as soon as finances and time allow it, so I'll be sure to get plenty of my own photos then.
