Stevie Touring with Petty on Some Dates?

Someone on the Enchanted list just mentioned she heard on her local radio station Stevie would be appearing with Tom on some dates and doing SDMHA. Has anyone heard anything about this? The list member said that the station's info is usually very accurate.

News to me, but very interesting indeed.

I was speculating about this after learning that Tom will be headling the ACL fest this year. Especially after reading that article I posted on the Tom thread in chit-chat. The bit about more opening acts or special guests, or whatever it said exactly, being announced soon. He won't be here with Pearl Jam, the Allman Bros. or Trey Anastasio...so who will it be? Hmmmm.....it wouldn't be the first time Stevie tagged along on a tour w/ Tom and the boys... :wavey:

That would be awesome if she did but they really need to sing "Insider."

 I JUST heard the same thing on my radio station too! I called the dj that announced it and she said Tom mentioned it at a benefit show he did this past weekend in LA. He said Stevie would be in on a FEW shows -not all of them, and only on a few songs. I would assume these would be west coast shows. The DJ was thinking she'd be doing this on the third leg of the tour (no dates yet)- maybe around september.

SWEET! I hope this is true! I thought about it as soon as I read the tour articles where he said he wanted to have a bunch of friends as guest artists on the road. But I thought nah, probably wouldn't happen. We were planning to see him this year anyway, but Stevie joining for a few songs would be the icing on the cake. I'd die to hear Insider, too.

Let's see... what else could they sing? Predictable candidates: SDMHA, I Need To Know, SYWBAR&RS. What I wish they'd sing: Insider, YCSCYM, Refugee, Don't Come Around Here No More, The Waiting, The Apartment Song, Walls.

That's great news but I'm not dropping any $$ on Petty tickets unless it's a guarantee Stevie will be there. I'm not a big enough fan of his although I have a tremendous amount of respect for him as an artist.

I saw him a couple of years ago because a friend had an extra (free) ticket. He was INCREDIBLE! I wasn't a huge fan before the show, but definitely was after. He puts on a great show.

SOmehow I don't think Stevie will make it to North Carolina. SIGH

according to Tom this is the last big tour for the Heartbreakers
and a feature length documentary is being shot along the way by Peter Bogdonovich.
Tom is inviting a lot of old friends to sing/play with him.

Stevie is an obvious choice. Expect her to show up at the Southern Calif. shows.

Dropping cash on a few Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers tickets is a wise investment.

In my opinion they are more impressive then the E Street Band.
Or Fleetwood Mac.

Realize that Petty doesn't mercilessly gouge his fans the way Stevie does. A Tom Petty concert is a lark, not an investment.

I hope they do "Insider" and "Needles and Pins-uh"

If they do it and I'm not there I will go on a murderous rampage. Just saying.
