Deep Dish - Dreams

Enters the UK chart at #14

Stevies highest UK entry :D

Yesterday they played it every hour for the entire day on a rather popular radio station here. It has yet to enter the charts though, but I think that will probably happen soon. :)

How do u think it will do?

From Music Week!

Washington-based Iranian dance duo Deep Dish's third Top 20 hit is a cover of Fleetwood Mac's Dreams, with original vocalist and composer Stevie Nicks providing new vocals. Debuting at number 14 on the Top 75 - after being ranked 117 last week on downloads - on sales of 6,228, it beats the number 24 peak of Fleetwood Mac's 1977 version, and number 25 peak of Wild Colour's 1995 dance remake but fails to match the number six success of the Corrrs' 1998 recording. It's a bigger hit than any Stevie Nicks solo single, and provides her highest chart placing since Fleetwood Mac reached number four with Everywhere in 1988.

So I'm a little behind....
is this stevie?

edit: ah, never mind, I just read the post above me

iamstevienicks 04-23-2006 02:12 PM

Yeah she did the re recorded vocals for this

I love it more than the original version though prefer Stevies old vocals

Considering they are playing it a lot and dance tracks usually do well in the Dutch charts, I hope this one will too.

iamstevienicks 04-23-2006 02:24 PM

Fleetwood Macs greatest hits has re entered the UK chart at #49 this week too :)

I doubt Stevies is anywhere to be seen though!

danax6 04-23-2006 02:28 PM

I did some digging, and Dreams is nr. 1 in the Dance Top 10.

Hopefully it will enter the regular Top 40 soon.

YAY!!

When is it due for release?

It entered here at #117 on downloads only then climbed to 14 :D

it's pretty cool, 14 is a VERY nice position for such a used song (from a stevie perspective) and a fourth single (from a deep dish perspective).

in fact what bugs me is the feeling that it could have done alot better, if only the video was decent, and they were trying some promotion for the single, it might have gotten alot higher. in an almost exact same case, tom jones is now releasing this crappy single with chicane (who's SOOOOO pathetically 1999...) and he's promoting it like crazy, he's all over the place these days, you just gotta open your tv and his wrinkly face is on it. he's gonna do great despite having a lesser quality track, just coz he tries so much harder.

Just discovered if it wasnt for downloads being included in the UK singles chart

Dreams would of been #8 instead :(

It sold around 6,500 copies too which is very very low!

Yes if she or Deep Dish would of made any promotion effort it could of easily been a top 5er

She should push a greatest hits album out now on the back of this too

YES the Tom Jones track is DREADFUL

It is AMAZING what they can do with a vocal when it is mixed..
There is no way in hell that she hit those high notes! You can tell
it was mixed with the original.
