Romy!
My DVD lectures from The Teaching Company arrived today. I've been watching them & they are excellent. I forgot to tell you this earlier, but many of them are currently ON SALE & it's a fantastic sale.
I ordered two sets of Robert Greenberg lectures on Beethoven: Piano Sonatas (24 lectures) & Symphonies (32 lectures). The prices were vastly reduced. The Greenberg lecture "Bach & the High Baroque" -- which includes 32 lectures at 45 minutes per lecture -- is available now in an amazing sale. Ordinarily, the eight DVDs go for $519.95 but the sale reduces the price to $129.95!! The sale applies to all the media. If you get the audio download (which you mentioned earlier), it's ordinarily $249.95 but right now it's only $64.95!! The DVDs are really nice: they come with books filled with measure-by-measure examples of staff notation & other descriptions that the lecturer refers to. These things are more thorough than a typical grad seminar. Anyone else interested in music or art or even history or science or philosophy, I recommend these Teaching Company lectures. They're available on DVD, on CD, via audio downloads or on audiotapes. See the site to check out the series titles, the background information & the prices: http://www.teach12.com/teach12.asp |
Thanks a lot for letting me know David, I'm seriously considering to buy (for now) the audio downloads.
