It was Mary Poppins on crack. I still can't decide if I actually liked this bizarre film about a really ugly nanny who comes to the aid of a widower with seven horribly unruly children. Using her "magic stick" she gets them into shape and for some unexplained reason, everytime the children learn something and do as they're told, Nanny McPhee loses some of her ugliness - a wart will disappear, her snaggle tooth, her bulbous nose, her rosacea... Is Emma Thompson trying to tell our children that if they do well then ugly people will go away???? I'm confused.

Colin Firth was cute in it though.

Oh. So thats why she is so..... unattractive in the promo and seems to change. Now it kinda makes sense! (Not really) :p

I haven't seen this yet. I sort of want to... I like Emma Thompson. Maybe I'll just wait for it to come out on DVD, like I do with practically every other movie these days.

I saw it w/ my 9 yr old last weekend. she liked it but i wasn't impressed at all.
