Going back in time... Please choose 2 moments
Ok, this is kind of one of my questions/games I used to post years ago, during the early days of the Ledge. Now I don't have enough time at work, ha haaa
Supose you have 2 round tickets to travel on time, just for one day in different years. What years would you choose? Rules 1. One travel has to be Mac related. Feel free to choose the place, the starting hour, but it just lasts 24 hours. You may include a solo career moment of the band or any mac member. But you can choose only one (I mean, if you go for a Stevie's moment, then you can't go to a mac moment the same day). You may choose a concert, a backstage, a studio session, the day Mick met Lindsey & Stevie, when Jeremy disappeared, etc, (in those cases you would be a hidden witness, he he). Choose the moment you most wish to see!!! 2. The second travel has the same rules, but has to be not-Mac related, but music related anyway (any other band or singer). 3. The tickets include money cash from the year you choose, so plan your day with no limits. My options Travel #1: I would choose a concert during the Rumours era, no doubt. It could be circa the one that appears in the Classic Albums - Fleetwood Mac - Rumours DVD since I've not seen enough material from that era. WHere? Not sure but I guess California would be a nice option. Travel #2: I'd choose another concert, from any band that I have no hope of reunion these days. I was thinking in Pink Floyd (but they did reunited with Waters), Beatles, Doors (these 2 for obvious reasons) but I choose ABBA 1979. I'm an ABBA fan, and a reunion is hard to see, and if there's one, I think I couldn't go. And 1979 was a great year for ABBA in terms of music. So I'd go and enjoy a whole day buying merchandise, magazines, etc. and finally enjoy a concert. I think Australia is a good option since they were huge idols there |
wow...this is tough
#1 I would want to see FM at the Hollywood Bowl #2 I would want to see Barbra circa her 94 tour at Madison Square Garden |
#1: This is easy. I'd go back to December 5, 1981 and see Stevie's show at Compton Terrace (which my parents wouldn't take me to because they had heard the venue was dangerous). I still have the reivew of the show from the Arizona Republic.
#2: I'd go back to September 7, 1986 and see Lone Justice again at (the long gone) Wolfgang's. Maria McKee was at the top of her game then. |
Well, this could change at any time, but right now, here's what my two choices would be:
1) Travel back to Boston in 1970 to see Fleetwood Mac for their entire Boston Tea Party run 2) Travel back to New York City on March 12th 1971 to see all four Allman Brothers Band shows at the Fillmore East (two on the 12th, two on the 13th). |
1. A show during the White Album tour would be awesome!!!!
2. April 23, 1961 - NYC - Carnegie Hall - Judy Garland. The greatest night in show biz history...period. |
1. To go to Studio 54 and snort coke with the celebrities.
2. To go back to the day earth came into existance to see how it really happened. EDIT: I didn't read the directions |
1. This is easy. I'd go back to the Say You Will concert here in Calgary. We had so much personal interaction with Stevie and Lindsey that it really felt like the show was just for us.
2. Music related? This might sound lame but I regret that I never saw INXS with Michael Hutchence. I LOVED that band. Probably the X concert of 1990. Wembley Stadium. Front row. |
1. Date: July 19, 1978, Location: I'm not exactly sure. Somewhere in Wisconsin?
This was a concert on the Rumours tour. Opening act: Walter Egan (I'm so predictable). Walt and the band joined the Mac onstage for the encore "Don't Let Me Down Again." 2. I'm not sure of the date and am too lazy to look it up, but the infamous Doors concert when Jim may or may not have exposed himself to the audience and was later arrested. Not only is this a famous moment in rock history, it was also one of the last performances Jim ever did because he died shortly afterwards. |
1. Go back to 2001 Jingle Ball show that Stevie performed at in SD. I'll never forget the attention we got from Stevie from the stage that night and I would love to re-live it again...sigh...
2. Go back to the year 1954 to attend the premiere of "East of Eden" and meet James Dean - one of the greatest actors that ever lived. |
#1 Fleetwood Mac, 9-1-1980 Hollywood Bowl.
#2 U2, when they did that show at the castle in Ireland for their 2001 tour. |
I know this does not fit your definitions....
I would go back and see if there was really a crucifixion or if it was a crusiFICTION. |
1) Mac related, Last night of the Tusk tour...
2) Un-Mac related: Monteray Pop with Jimi, Janis and the Who!!! |
(1) Mac Related: 5/21/77 Nashville, TN: I love this bootleg, and I live in Tennessee now. Therefore, this makes it the logical choice for me to go back and see live.
(2)Un-Mac Related: Woodstock----3 days of peace, love, music, Janis, Joan, CSN, Jefferson Airplane, and many others. It would be so amazing to be part of this historic event! Aside from the great music, it would be interesting to see all of the other things that were happening. |
Mac Related: To be in the studio with them during the recording of Rumours (and watching the sparks fly!)
Non Mac Related: To see Led Zeppelin live somewhere between '75-'77 |
us festival...80s...i was too busy playing in the mud to pay close attention ;)
gunsnroses...90s...my friend was hurt at the venue so missed 3/4 :( |
