The 9th Gate

I saw this movie on Starz the other day and I was fascinated by it. Has anyone else seen it and liked/disliked it? I thought Johnny Depp looked pretty good btw.

I remember that part. Poor thing. something happened to her tongue. The ending has a really interesting twist to it too.

I really love this film. Most peeps seem bored to tears with it. But not me. I love books, so the intrigue is there for me. I own this on DVD and watch it frequently. It's certainly a slow burn, as are most of Polanski's films.

Words cannot describe how much I hated this movie.

JD's character spent the whole damn movie pondering what or who "LCF" was and I spent the whole time screaming "It's Lucifer you dumb****!"

And Depp bore an unsettling resemblance to my father in that movie, thus making me hate it even more.

I saw it a couple of years ago and I thought it was ok. I am a big Polanski fan so I find it sort of difficult to hate his movies.
And may I say, JD looks good in most films and it's funny because I didn't realise that till very recently (while most girls my age have noticed that since 21 Jumpstreet).
The only thing I didn't like about the movie was Emmanuelle Seigner who is Polanski's wife (IMO she wouldn't be in it or in any film if she wasn't his wife)

Like that never happens in Hollywood.

She was great, IMO. Very mysterious.

That's funny, because the boyfriend and I both watched it, and he was asleep about an hour into it. I guess it's just diferent thigns for different people huh?
