Stevie's History of Campaign Contributions

Looky what I found: http://www.newsmeat.com/celebrity_po...evie_Nicks.php

Stevie never talks about politics, so this is very interesting to me. I would have guessed before now that she was a Democrat, but I didn't know for sure.

She gave $1,000 to Gary Hart's 1984 presidential campaign, the same amount she contributed to Al Gore for 2000.

Most recently, she gave $2,000 to Washington state senator Maria Cantwell to use for re-election when her term ends this year. It is a bit puzzling to me. She contributes to someone in Washington, but not someone in Arizona?

"Where's the beef?"

I find it hilarious how that line essentially killed his campaign in '84. And then he was stupid enough to run against the neocons again in '88 while he was having an affair. How patently stupid.

Probably a friend of a friend or some such ****. She voted for CAFTA and Iraq, I believe, but she also voted against Roberts, she's completely pro-choice, and she singlehandedly killed Ted Stevens' bull**** bill that would have allowed oil drilling in Alaska.

For what it's worth Janis, Gore did win.

JWS 01-26-2006 01:35 PM

$8,000. That's not much over 23 years...and nothing between 84 and 99!

Gore lost by one vote! The Supreme Court voted 5-4 to stop the Florida recount.

He was reelected because Rublicans outnumber Democrats on the Supreme court 5 to 4. Funny coincidence how that was the same vote count to stop the Florida recounts.
