Mysterious Demo Revealed!

What Would You Do on YouSendIt

I found this song called "What Would You Do" on Limewire, with the extra label of "RARE DEMO ALMOST RECORDED by Stevie Nicks - Strong consideration for Rock A Little - 1986" I was skeptical about this claim given all the songs on Limewire that are erroniously credited to Stevie. I entered some of the lyrics into Google, and found that indeed the lyrics were listed on some Stevie fan sites.

I found the song mentioned in this old thread here on the Ledge. SaraRhiannon (where the hell are you?) says about it:

this one actually isn't even circulating. A friend somehow got a hold of the lyrics & sent them to me, and he's someone whose word I really trust, so I posted them. I've never heard the actual song, & I don't know if it was even recorded.
Maybe Stevie never even made her own version of it, but it is still interesting to me, especially since it seems to be a rarity.

it's pretty interesting...reading the lyrics it looks like it could be a Stevie song...wonder who is really singing it?

Sounds a little bit like the Williams Brothers, or at least one of them. They are the ones who wrote and originally recorded "Some Become Strangers". They also recorded a song Stevie wrote called "You Like Me".
They are mostly known for the song "Can't Cry Hard Enough".

I've seen it too on p2p but was still in queue to download it. It's really interesting thanks for sharing!

You are right, paleshadow. It does sound like one of the Williams Brothers. It makes me think that they sent Stevie a choice of demos and she chose "Some Become Strangers" out of them. Incidentally, you can watch the Williams Brothers own video for "Some Become Strangers" here.

Wow, I never realized they made a video for the song. Unfortunately I can't seem to play it.

that is the strangest thing...and he looks like my ex-best friend's boyfriend, if her boyfriend had bathed or washed his hair:nod:
