I'm new to The Ledge and wanted to say hello to you all. I've been posting Master Reel demos on the Seven Wonders board for a couple of months and figured I'd post here also for those who don't visit the other site. What is the difference between the mp3 and the wave one? Do you need anything special to listen to wave songs?

The wav file, because it is lossless, is much larger and can take longer to download if you have a slow connection.

The MP3 is a compressed file. Because it is smaller, it downloads real quick but you sacrifice some of the sound quality.

Depending on who you ask, the difference in sound quality between the two types varies from negligible to very noticeable.

You can see for yourself by downloading both files to see if you notice a difference. I personally think many MP3's sound dull and somewhat muted compared to the wav files which have a much fuller sound.
