Focus On The Family fires Wells Fargo
I was reading in the metro section of today's Local Minneapolis paper, and it came to my attention the the conservative christian group Focus On The Family has terminated it's relationship with Wells Fargo bank because the CEO of Focus deemed that Wells Fargo was advancing a "Radical Homosexual agenda." (((SIGH))) What apparently triggered FOTF's ire was the fact that Wells had made a matching grant to GLAAD for something that wasnt specified in the article. The CEO also stated that Wells had done an "Excellent" job in handling it's affairs, but that "This is principle, and we had to take a stand." He also stated that members should not spend any money at companies with a pro-gay stance. HUH?!?!? Wells Fargo has a large presence here in the Twin Cities, and they are very well known for being a gay friendly company. They always have a presence at our local Pride festival that takes place each year the last week in June, so I'm surprised these people at Focus didnt notice this sooner than they did. Also, as an interesting side note, the founder of FOTF said 49 out of the 50 top Fortune 500 companies in the US are "PRO-GAY." I actually was very pleased to read that. I guess my thought on the whole thing would be that Wells Fargo isnt going anywhere, and if these people wanna look like idiots, so be it. I'm not losing any sleep over this because I know no matter what I do, there are people out there that aren't gonna like me for who I am, so F**K em.

Well that's one good thing that can be said for the company.
Though I can't say I'm real thrilled with the service I've received thus far. They misplaced an ATM desposit I made (roughly $600) and rather than call to inform me of this... they sent a letter stating that they were unable to locate it and that consequently they had deducted the amount from my account balance. After that my mother insisted that I do my deposits at the teller... so I did, once. But when I requested cash back they wouldn't give it to me because I didn't have a California ID or license at the time... Umm hello geniuses! I didn't have an ID when I opened the account either! I also think that if I had stolen the check from someone, I would have asked for more than $40 cash. Sorry for my little rant. |

I couldn't be happier about the Rose Bowl!! :blob1: The whole town is ga-ga. The UT tower sure did look purty last night, all aglow in burnt orange. |

That little issue with the lost deposit caused some of my checks to do this - :blob2: I was pissed. |
