I thought it was "Blue Water"? Is that a different song? If it is different, post that shizz!
Blue Water - "and the sea smiles at me" and "I'd like to take you on a slow ride"
are some of the lyrics.
Not that I'm saying it's not called what you said, I just thought it was called "Blue Water" if it's the same song. :)
One of the very few non released Stevie demos that I really like. It doesn't really go anywhere, lyrically, but it sure is beautiful. And where it does go, is pretty deep.

15 BILLION posts, and you don't know what "Cool Water" is?
For shame.....:(
I can't believe it. You're not a FM fan. Just a chatty Cathy!

Yes, bunny one, I am kidding you(although I seriously can't believe you don't know CW). Calm down, you get waaaay too excited.
Cool Water is a really old song. I have Marty Robbins doing it, like back in the late 50's/ early 60's. It's a Mirage outtake. The B side of GYPSY, for gawd's sake.
GYPSY. Isn't that like, your people's, calling?

No. If you haven't heard of it, you are obviously super lame. Sorry Tynan.:(

Good for you, Brandon. You're way cool.

Seriously, guys, because someone doesn't know a relatively obscure B-side means they aren't a real fan? No wonder so many newbies & lurkers are terrified to post here with questions for fear of getting slammed.

Shame on anyone who looks down on anyone else because they don't know that this one performance was Stevie in 1983, in butt****wherever, Oakland, Largo, My Ass - wherever - the point is that I saw it and loved it, and appreciated it or not for it's musical/skill qualities. And shame on any "fact nazis" who try to tell anyone otherwise.

You're absolutely right. I have nothing but scorn for fact nazis (great phrase, btw) who rip other fans over such details (one such fact nazi used to publish a fanzine & made these deathly pronouncements that when you dared question them, you were sniveled at). What goes around, comes around; & that will bite them back. Because one thing about the Mac is that NO ONE knows it all, & any time you get to thinking that you know more than this guy or that guy, that person gets you back with something that YOU didn't know. It really bothers me when people who don't know me peg me that way because it just isn't me. We're all fans in the mishmash of Macism. To borrow from the late, great Mr. Richard Mitchell, I prefer to keep company with the askers rather than the answerers.

And don't get me wrong, I love facts. Love them. But I don't think they are necessarily the most important part of appreciating Stevie and the Mac. Fact gathering doesn't make you enjoy the performance any more. And if it does, then you aren't really enjoying the performance, you are just fact gathering. :)
Seriously, are you effing kidding me? Gosh, I hope so.

That is a pretty wonderful couple of paragraphs, and something that everybody on Internet who considers himself to be a "superfan" of any musical artist should read.

And I certainly wouldn't blame anybody for never having heard of "Cool Water." It only ever appeared as a B-side on a vinyl single in 1982, and it's never been released on CD. Seems like the kind of song that it would have made a hell of a lot of sense to include on a box set...
