I am such a flake

My step-son is is, really really sick (just came home from urgent care- he's better now). But earlier in the day, I went to the grocery store to get him some ginger-ale, etc. When I got to the check-out there was only one cashier open, so there were several of us on line. I was starting to get irritated, but a few minutes later another cashier motioned to me to come over. As I did, the guy in front of me (and the lady in front of him) flew over to the other register, so I loudly said, "Oh for God's sake, forget it!" and walked back to my original line. The guy who had been in front of me called over to go ahead and get in front of him and I was all bitchy and said, "No, really- it's fine". So then he said, "Honey, I was in front of you to begin with" and then I said, "No really, it's FINE". I was such a ridiculous bitch! I walked over to him and apologized after the whole thing. I told him that I had a sick child at home and that I was really edgy and that I was so sorry for acting that way. He was so appreciative, and you know I think if more people would just suck it up and apologize for being retarded, the world would be a happier place. He said he completely understood and thanked me for apologizing. I'm all about being a bitch when you've been wronged, but the way I acted was uncalled for. :o

Hope your son will be feeling much better very soon. Take care:)

No big deal. Normally I urinate on people who cut in front of me. Anyway...you're totally in the clear when you apologized, that took some guts.

Honey, don't be so hard on yourself. While I agree with you about sucking it up to apologize, I'm bitchy all the time. I just do lots of sucking it up! ;) But, seriously, that is a reason to be edgy and bitchy. I would have been freaking out a little also.

we all have our moments...but what makes you different than the masses is that you took responsibility for your actions, and you did the right (and kind) thing. I agree that if someone's an ass, but apologizes, and explains a little (but not necessary), I'm willing to understand. If someone is just hateful b/c they're being a prima donna..then I get ugly right back. The fact that you owned your bitchiness, and apologized for your behavior means you are a good person! Don't be mad at yourself anymore. :xoxo:

You were just frustrated. Heppens to all of us.

I think you would have been a flake (or worse ;) ) if you hadn't apologized. But you DID - which to me makes you, not only human, but a human to respect.

Plus, you have a sick kid, and that IS an excuse for high emotions. By the way, I hope he gets well soon.
