I love her. She was on Air America's The Majority Report last Friday and a 71 year old lady called in to tell her how much she loved her. Her new book is great, too.

NOTHING makes me laugh harder than:

"Hi, my name is Gwen, and I'm hear to WAAAAAAAAAAASH your vagina!!"

Every time I see that bit, I lose it. So fecking hysterical.

Do you remember her sitcom "All American Girl"? It's coming to DVD in January!

AND - she's developing a new show for Fox where she plays...her mother.

I remember, but I never saw it. Apparently the writing was pretty bad. Wait, I think I know that because MC made fun of it in one of her shows...
So, I won't get that. I prefer stand up.
I hope her new show is good. :)

Eh, it started off really great, but by the end, it had become dull because the network was forcing her to change things so much. But there were some truly hilarious episodes, especially the Quentin Tarantino one.

Oh, wow. I dunno If I didn't have TV then, or what - I thought it was cancelled lickety split.
Good to know some was funny. I doubt I'll buy the DVD, because I don't buy things, but in theory I would add it to my list, thanks for the tip. For instance, I'll probably rent her new one.

From Google News:

Margaret Cho takes another stab at series TV
http://www.advocate.com/news_detail_ektid22242.asp

Fox Broadcasting Co. is developing a comedy script with comedienne Margaret Cho, who unhappily starred in the short-lived sitcom All-American Girl on ABC in 1994–1995. The ethnic, multigenerational family comedy is said to involve a character based on Cho's mother that she has made a fixture of her stand-up routine.

"I'm very excited about this project because, finally, I get to become my mother," said Cho, who would also executive-produce with Just Shoot Me writer Susan Dickes. Cho describes her harrowing experience with All-American Girl in her concert film I'm the One That I Want, alleging that ABC pressured her to lose so much weight that it triggered kidney failure. FOX Signs Margaret Cho
http://www.tvfodder.com/archives/200...ns_marga.shtml

Margaret Cho has probably been called a lot of things in her life, but will "a good mom" be one of them? FOX seems to think so. UPI is reporting that the network has signed up the notorious C.H.O. for a sitcom deal.

The show is based on the material she does on her mom in her standup act. "Finally, I get to become my mother," Cho told "Variety."

ABC's "American Girl" didn't fare so well, but it also sounded like they were kind of a pain in the ass, telling Cho to lose weight and some of her ethnicity. Nice. She uses some of that pain in her standup act, and since the premise of this show roots from the same act, I would think it would last a bit longer.

Cho is currently wrapping two films, "Social Grace" and "I'mPerfect." No word on when the sitcom might air. -- Rachel Cericola

Omigod, I did hear the bad things from her standup! hahahaha.
She is really good at being her mother. And it's a different time now - for Christ's sake, have you seen Family Guy and American Dad?!?!?! If all things remain consistent, Fox will not try to censor and change her show to make it more "Whatever".:)
It's weird they air such crass shows, but have such conservative news. Yet more evidence of Fox's lame-osity.

I love Margaret Cho and yes, she's working on a new show. She was on Sirius OutQ last week and was talking about her new dvd and new show.
