"a tawdry corrupt art for a tawdry corrupt world"

This is one of my favorite quotes:

"Never have I waltzed to 'My Country 'Tis Of Thee,' nor met anyone who did. Still, it's a waltz, for it is written in waltz time."

To give slightly more context, this line was given in response to the question, "Any last words for our readers?"

I'll be very pleased if anyone knows who said this one.

Dude. DUDE!!! jk - Oscar Wilde? Truman Capote? Bob Dylan?

Tom Waits? Oh, that crazy Tom Waits....So brill lyrically, so..something, something else...

mmkay. bitchez. Here's my quotes.

"Attempt the impossible in order to improve your work"

and

"From the moment I was six I felt sexy. And let me tell you it was hell, sheer hell, waiting to do something about it. "

"Gay Liberation? I ain't against it, it's just that there's nothing in it for me. "

"I am just too much."

":I don't take the movies seriously, and anyone who does is in for a headache. "

"I don't think of myself as a character actress - that's become a phrase which means you've had it"

"I have been uncompromising, peppery, intractable, monomaniacal, tactless, volatile, and ofttimes disagreeable... I suppose I'm larger than life. "

"I often think that a slightly exposed shoulder emerging from a long satin nightgown packs more sex than two naked bodies in bed. "

"I sent my flowers across the hall to Mrs Nixon but her husband remembered what a Democrat I am and sent them back."

"I think I'll have a large order of prognosis negative."

and lastly: "I was the Marlon Brando of my generation."

That's what I'm talkin bout, people. Now those are some quotes!!

And I could have included probably about fifty more super clever ones.

Last hint - who...WHO! Could be this outspoken, pithy, honest, clever, megomaniacal, and cruelly yet truthfully insightful?
That's right, only one kind of person. A JEZEBEL!!!

And goodness, let me just say again - there are so many clever quotes I didn't include.

Yes. It should be obvious.
:wavey:
carry on.
