Stevie and her music videos

Stevie must love doing music videos because she in her solo career has done more than Fleetwood Mac has in their 40 year career. I'm glad she does, because i love all of her music videos, and i can't stop watching them!! :]

She once said she didn't like doing music videos. She did them because she "had to" for marketing reasons.

Yep! MTV "ruled the world" back then! :D
Artists were pretty much "expected" to do them.
I think maybe a solo artist would have been cheaper to make a
video for than an entire group - plus with a big group you have
to get everyone together at once.
Of course, if someone doesn't show,
you can always figure something out! ;)

Too bad Stevie wasn't black, then she wouldn't have had to make videos because MTV wouldn't have aired them.

Do they even play any music on MTV anymore? I was never a fan of music videos. Give me the old days when you just watched an artist play an instrument or sing a song.
Now it's almost as if they have to a porn star to get any airplay.

I don't watch the regular MTV station anymore. They do have a "Hits" station, where they play videos 24 hrs a day. They actually have some good stuff on there from time to time.

Very rarely, but sometimes they'll surprise you!

I seem to remember a rather brief window in the early/mid-nineties where it sures seemed like a lot of artists at least tried to make their videos artistic and innovative and fun and more than just sex-obsessed marketing tools. But perhaps those are just the rose-colored glasses of youth talking...

.

I watched an old, old tape I have, a while back - just random stuff
from MTV - we all thought it was so "permanent" back then.
But Mark Goodman, the Veejay, had this look on his face like
"Yeah this is gonna last! Anybody know of any
RADIO gigs out there??? SOME-body??? ANY-body?
I'd do INFOMERCIALS, TOO, i hear THOSE are taking off!"

Anyway I think all the "talent" went in to the movies.
Chasing after the buckage. . . . $$$

Sisters of the Moon, Rhiannon and World Turning from Midnight Special and Seven Wonders are some of my favorites. I also love, LOVE Angel from the Tusk Documentary. Love the ballet class and when she is singing at the piano with Lindsey, the little "doll" that someone puts in front of the camera lens is cute too.
